Ask RND

Signed in to the portal, choose Ask RND under Help, on any page. Say whether it's a question, a problem or an idea, and write your message. An RND engineer replies by email, to the address you signed in with. You get a reference for the request straight away.

The portal attaches the page you asked from and your sign-in email. Nothing else: no payloads, no credentials.

Use it for anything to do with the bus: a refusal you don't understand, more replays than a day allows, an AWS role that should read a consumer queue, a new workspace's first invitation that expired, a question about these docs.

What to include

• The environment: Sandbox or Preview.
• The time window, with the time zone.
• message_ids and rule ids. RND can find the gateway's decision from a message_id.
• Your workspace, and the app or connection id (c…).

Never send secrets or real content. Test data only, and ids rather than payloads.

Let RND look: support access

Available now Sometimes an engineer needs to see what you see. An owner of

the workspace can let RND read it for a set time, from the RND support access box at the bottom of Ask RND:

1. Choose how long: 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days or 7 days. 7 days is the most.
2. Add a note if you like, such as your Ask RND reference.
3. Press Grant RND read-only access.

While it lasts:

• RND engineers can open the workspace in the portal and see its pages as a viewer does, including the payloads in its story timeline.
• The grant lets them change nothing: no apps, credentials, settings, invitations, test runs, dry runs or publishes. The portal refuses every change they try in the workspace, and records the attempt. What RND already does for you without a grant, such as setting your quota or the AWS roles that read a consumer queue, is unchanged.
• In a house, RND's pages show your vendors' connections as counts, as yours do, and nothing of a vendor's own workspace is included. A vendor's own workspace needs its own owners' grant.
• Every page RND opens is recorded in the workspace's audit log before it is shown, with the time, the page and the RND account. If the record can't be written, the page isn't shown. Owners and admins see the list in the same box, under What RND opened.
• Every owner is emailed when access starts and when it ends.

Any owner can Revoke now at any time, and access stops from RND's next request. Otherwise it ends at the time you chose; the email saying so follows within about 15 minutes. Other members see whether RND has access and until when; only owners grant or revoke it. Without a grant, RND sees gateway decisions' metadata (outcomes, rule ids, counts), never payloads.
